Fixing India: Standing Up for People Affected by the Sardar Sarovar Dam

Video Volunteers community correspondent Chetan Salve is an active member of the Narmada Bachao Andolan and he has achieved several 'impacts' by ensuring that the rights of the people in the Narmada basin area are upheld.

Chetan and his colleagues fought and won a 25 year-long battle to ensure that Narmada valley residents, who got displaced as a result of the Sardar Sarovar Dam, get their due compensation.

He also prevented a hotelier from illegally occupying land near the Statue of Unity and exploiting it for commercial purposes.

Chetan Salve's efforts and achievements are an inspiration to all those who are committed to ensuring that the unheard voices don't go unnoticed.
